New 2008 MR owner with 15K

So I finally purchased my dream car, except for the 6speed automatic. I traded it in with a 2007 Mazdaspeed 3 GT with a bunch of mods. I bought the car brand new so getting rid of her was not a good feeling since she was my pride. Well I got the 2008 Evolution MR in rally red. It came with the body kit. I purchased her from Shirley Slack Mitsubishi and I think that was the most difficult experience at a dealership I have every had. They wanted to run my credit so bad it was hurting them. They literally asked me every single sentence that they need to run my credit and blah blah blah.
So driving the car home last night, I was just curious if the transmission, since I have not driven an automatic for 5-6 years, if the transmission, when it downshifts, is suppose to kick in first gear coming to a stop. Also, when I pull the car in the garage, I hear this really weird sound when you put it in neutral and park, like a can rolling around. Since I don't know much about these transmissions, I was wondering if this was a normal thing, or possibly get it checked. Will post pics later

Can you elaborate more on the dealership experience. I just left Malloy Mitsu up here in Woodbridge. They didn't seem too bad but weren't willing to do much wheeling and dealing while I was still shopping around. I'm looking for an MR but they only had the Touring model. It seems like Shirley Slack often has the Evo in stock both used and new but it's an hour drive for me. Did you notice what they had when available when you were down there?

They had 2 used evos, one silver mr and the red mr with navi, which i bought. From what I have been told from a guy I work with that lives in fredericksburg, they have only been a mitsu dealer for about 6 months, if that. They used to be a used car dealer. They wanted to run my credit so bad that me and my husband just looked at them like wtf. Every TIME i Was getting ready to get up and leave because they wanted to negotiate, they were like well lets see what your payments would be at this price if the interest rate was this. They wouldnt negotiate on price at all and of course wouldnt let me test drive the car, which i can understand. However, after I left there friday night, considering that i was there for 3 hours of them wanting to run my credit, i came back after researching over the weekend. I got all the paper work ready. Looked the car over, and then they wanted me to start signing papers, still have yet to test drive the car. That was when my husband flipped out and was like were not signing any papers until she test drives the car because we don't know if she is going to like the way it drives or if the motor blows up when she leaves the dealership, then its her problem. Then after negotiating test drive, came the paper work. I wont be surprised if DMV sends me something that says this is still your car, or the paper work was done incorrectly, or even my license is suspended because they didn't check this box that states I have insurance on the car. It was the worst experience I have ever had dealing with a dealer. I would advice to stay away.

I talked to a sales guy last night. My bank has a car buy service that holds them to a pre-negotiated ZAG price. I'm looking for a used MR and the guy said a red one just sold about a week ago. They quoted me 41K OTD price for a brand new one with the aero kit and stupid shifter knob and ebrake handle. I thought they were smoking crack.

Beautiful color, btw. Congrats!
