buying a new car

Yes i read the stickies i couldnt find this info in much detail.....

So i bought an 08 civic SI thought it would be fun enough while still being practical. 8 months later the car never really makes me smile (or ever did). When i sign my next contract which should be within 2 weeks im going to go car shopping I was really considering a couple cars. I eliminated an e46 m3 because BMW would have crazy repair bills for anything. I test drove a genesis coupe 3.8 its nice for the money but my parents will sell me there 350z for trade in value (an 04 with like 22k miles and was taken care of). But what I'm really really considering is trying to find a used evo x gsr (newer stis are too ugly) so to cut to what I really want to ask is for a more in detail to look for.

What are some known mechanical errors with the cars you guys can point me to take a look at because i might not go through a dealership to buy it. What things are normal but dont feel right (such as transmission being notchy) and what are the first signs that the car has been driven by a 16 year old (or really hard) to look for.

There are too many things to make note of. Take it for a PPI, that's all you need. Bring back the results of the PPI and we'll tell you what's normal and what's not.

Notchiness can be felt on all GSR, the only remedy to it is TWM Short Shifter + AMS Underhood Bushing + AMSOIL tranny oil.
