Thinking of getting an evo 8 or 9

Hey guys currently driving a steptronic 04 330ci coupe. Planning on giving the car to my sister and really interested in the evo 8 or 9. I love the style and performance and handling. Also it being a sedan is much more practical for me right now. Opinions please with negatives and positives. Thanks

um evo is the bestest! =D
If you are going to start a family and you want a car that has performance + family friendly then the evo is the way to go..and if your gf/wife gets a mini van then you can make the evo into a beast with almost no effort =]
The Bad: Not the best ride quality, road noise is partially loud, have to keep up on the maintenance..or...boom goes the dynamite..and some other things im to lazy to type atm..
The Good: everything else i did not mention in the bad :P
remember you are on an evo forum so we are going to try and persuade you to get it haha
(sorry for the not so informative post, i just felt like typing)

just the basics really..Its a turbo car so (me personally) would change the oil every 3k miles and if you get the MR then don't be to rough on the tranny because they are known to not be as strong as the 5 speed, unless your keeping it basically stock then you shouldn't have a problem..the clutch it pretty expensive if you want to upgrade/replace..need to change the tranny fluid, transfer case fluid and rear differential fluid every 15k miles.
The paint is not the best so wax it every 6 months or so and you will be good.
I'm still a noob on EVO's so im sure other people will chime in and help you out more.

One thing I didnt see mentioned in the FAQs that you should make note of when looking for EVOs ; shopping for them is a PAIN IN THE ***! These cars are routinely beat on, modded to hell, and trade owners all the time so history is lost and who knows what the cars been through in the past. If you can manage to find a near stock one with lower miles and only 1 owner, you can expect to pay a lot for it, like so much that it makes no sense at all and personally I would just throw another 5k on top and get a BRAND NEW one..

Regards,

Fellow Evo shopper.

great car... the bigest downfall is the insurance. I have 2 pay 364 a month (im 21 with a "ok record") but if u can afford it the car wont let you down on performance.

I will say, if ur used 2 a BMW interior the evo will not come close, it will feel cheap compared to it becuase...it is.

The evo is supposed 2 be cheap and light.. if thats what u want you will be happy

You're paying too much for your insurance.
