Evo8 vs. Evo 9 wing weight difference

I was wondering if there was a significant difference in weight between the Evo8 and Evo9 wing. I know that the composition of the Evo8 wing is carbon fiber so I figured there might be some difference.

Also would the torsion bars from an 8 work for a 9 wing?

Thanks Drew.

So the benefit to an Evo 9 wing might be its resistance to fade?

i have had both. i did not notice a weight difference. but in strength the evo 8 wing is much much stronger. the evo 9 wings are junk. they flex around a bit more then the evo 8 wings. when on a highway 75mph you can really tell who has an 8 wing and who has a 9 wing.

the EVO 8 wing is made totally of carbon fiber. the 9 wing is only carbon on the center section. it's ABS on the sides. The 8 wing's clear coat wasn't as durable as the 9's.

the 9 wings break at high speeds. a friend of mine broke his on the track. it was so violent it dented his trunk.

Really? The downforce broke the wing? How fast was he going?

This makes me not want to swap for an Evo9 wing now. Maybe I'll stay wingless.

Sounds like there was an unseen fracture in the wing that contributed greatly to the effect.
