Best stockframe street turbo

What are we thinking these days if you were doing stockframe turbo setup for the street only? Lets say stock block with boltons and a medium cam (ie. S2's). Pump gas or pump plus meth only.

BBK-B seems pretty promising with very little spools characteristics to stock and producing really good numbers!

You should wait a bit for the HKS GTII, the only BB stock frame coming out!

This could be a very interesting thread. How do we define, "for the street only?" I see folks voting for Red/Black setups. By the time one of those suckers gets going in daily driving, a stock turbo car will be a block ahead. So, what are we talking about?

Wow shows you ^^^^^ really have not had much time with a red. A stock ix will pul at most a K rpm earlier but wont pull as hard and the red will pull and catch up REAL quick ESP. on a GOOD TUNE! Plus I dont want to spool at 1500-2000 RPM in daily driving cause it Eats fuel and is just a pain in the rear.

I would pick the BBK full. Looks stock with standard stock inlet and performs well on even 91 oct. Want more power just throw E-85 at it. Second choice is stock IX. Amazing response on the street with well choosen mods. We are the envy of the stock turbo world....lol

I know what you're saying FJF. A street turbo could mean for highspeed highway pulls or it could mean traffic light to traffic light downtown. For the sake of this thread lets say it will be used for both equally.

For a DD on say 91or 93 octane...I would say the BBK series turbos...all are setup well for pump gas DD cars...

I vote BBK full, stock like spool and nice power on 93 octane. It is also as reliable as the stock 9. If you sensibly use your right foot you will stay out of boost for everyday driving.

Turbo lagg is just a downshift away (black) but i would still say the best for street/dd would be BBk-full or hta green

I voted Red. I swapped my stock IX turbo for one and haven't regretted it for a second. It's my DD, so I can stay out of boost in my every day commute and save some gas, but the spool isn't bad, so I can still hit the gas and have fun. The stock turbo was getting a little boring for me, and when I decided to go with a new turbo, I just thought the BBK would do the same thing for me. It would be fun for a while, but I would max it out pretty quickly. I'm only on pump with the Red, so I'm just an E85 tune and some bigger injectors away from curing any boredom I get with this setup down the line.
