2011 STI Sedan or 2011 Hatch or Evo X? What would you pick
Hi all, im not starting any war topic evo vs sti, i just want people's opinion on new Subaru models vs Mitsubishi's Old...
2011 Sedan and Hatch came out with some upgrades', while Evo remains the same, there are no announcements for any 2011 evo.
Considering that there will be no new Evo this year, what do you guys think is better now..
I think - EvoX is ahead of 2010 STI Hatch.., Will new models from Subaru bring some competion to Evo? or suspension upgrades and new sedan wont help alot.
I heard that Subaru's Engines blow often..
But as far as i understand these problems comes from pistons and block... for example i replace those with forged ones, will the problem be solved? .. can i strengthen sti's Engine? And how much will it cost me?
New 2011 suspension is not that soft as 2010, also Subaru's Boxer sounds better then Evo's inline engine - all together and we will get a better car then Evo..
It will cost more to mode it, but anyway..
Any advise on what to buy - EvoX, 2011 STI 4door or 2011 STI 5door.. ?
For DD and sometimes for Track's, going to mode it anyway..
Country: UAE
Please - Don't flame me if i wrote something wrong, im kinda new in this..

As far as how to modify and strengthen the motor on a Subaru, I don't think you're going to get very many answers as this is a Mitsubishi forum. Plus, since the 2011 STi hasn't been released yet, you're going to have a difficult time drawing comparisons between the two models aside from visual appearance and spec sheets.
Based on past Evo vs. STi comparisons, if you're looking to modify for moderate to serious power gains at a lesser expense, the Evo has traditionally been the better choice.

I think this is the best deal for me to wait when 2011's come, get 2010 for a cheaper price and also here in Dubai we have an Performance Pack option, idk if its usefull enough - it costs 3000$ ???
EvoX GSR Manual
+
PP: The Performance Pack
• 18"x 8.5" BBS Forged Aluminium Wheels
• 2-piece Brembo Front Disc.
• Comes with an Alloy Mounting Bell -1.3kg Lighter per Wheel
• Front and Rear Bilstein Sport Shock Absorbers and Eibach Springs All Round
Also we can add for 1000$
3 of these packages
LC: Leather Combination Interior Pack
• Leather & Alcantara Recaro Upgrade Front and Rear including Heated Seat
• Sound Deadening Material Upgrade
• Floor Console Box Lid Covered with Vinyl Leather
• Door Entrance Scuff Plate
KE: Keyless Entry System
A system which allows the driver to lock or unlock the doors and to start or stop the engine without having to take the remote unit out of the pocket or handbag.
RF: Rockford Fosgate Premium Sound System (High Power Amplifier and 9-speaker System)
For those who appreciate music while behind the wheels, the Rockford Fosgate Premium Audio System is a must option. It features a powerful 650W amplifier with a digital signal processor and a 9-speaker array with subwoofer in the boot, and controls on the steering wheel. The speaker output can be optimized according to the type of music, and the balance can be centered for both rows - a driver and front passenger, or only for the driver.
What do you think about it?
Is it worse to pay 3000 for Performance package provided by dealership?
Will last 3 packages decrease car performance anyhow?
Thank you in advance

suspension can be addressed rather easily
As mentioned, this is a Mitsu forum and will be biased to Evo opinions.
I love both cars. You will have to weigh both practicality of a hatchback STI vs sedan Evo and pro and cons of upgrades to each vehicle.
Lastly, test drive both vehicles. Good luck.

noone can tell you what to get an as mentioned we will be slight biased when you compare it to the STI.
almost everyone here on evoM more than likely dealt with that same question EVO VS STI.....in the end you will see almost everyone here came for either power and due to EVOs pure sex appeal
STI will be more reliable and draw that type of crowd. nasioc.com for their inputs
if i had to elect again I would take a look at what your going to use the car for? the price? what are your plans? look around at the show and shine, also mod threads? and hey take a test drive to know what you are getting your self into?
