Evo VII

not sure if this was posted before. sorry if it was.

I was browsing the mitsu site lookin' for info and stuff, when I stumbled across this page

http://mitsubishimotors.com/company/...html#Evo%20VII

Uh, could someone please tell me if they are planning to bring the VII to america? or what? If they are: badass! wooo!

Another questionable thing... The "Montero Evolution" [...]

Cheif, the VII is old news as far the the J-Spec cars go. If they were to bring a VII to the states, its have the same set up as our Evo VIII. 5 speed, (imported in mass amounts that is) no AYC or ACD....so....you can probably get one and get one legalized..but no, production has stopped to my knowledge on the VII. Just like the camaro ,the Evo evolves. Chevy wouldn't import a 1997 camaro (old body style) to Japan for kicks. Bad analogy, I know....but....I've been up for 27 hours.

Dude, I know it's old... in Japan.

But why is it there? Mitsubishi forgetting to update their page? (I wouldn't doubt this...)

It'd be nice to have the VII just for the damn body-- so much better than the VIII. :\

Like a year and a half ago they thought they would bring the evo VII to the us. but they brought the VIII over in stead. The VII would have been 3 years old at that point in japan.

I think I can help with this one. The EVO VII info is for the press which had/has access to that car before Mitsubishi had brought us over the VIII. I drove it back when I was working as the Road Test Coordinator for Edmunds.com. The story is probably still listed on their website somewhere.
