for 114k the car is way to expensive at 145000 Your gunna have to do the timming belt and water pump right away along with probible a new clutch so you have to factor that in. I would suggest building an evo out of a roller or a car with a spun bearing or something if you have some wrench skills.

If you dont have any wrenchin abilitys yet then youre probible gunna have to bite the bullit. If you know any experianced evo owners ask them to come with on a test drive to listen for a whinny Transfer case or a sketchy clutch/ Throw out bearing. If the tranny shifts nice and theres know whinning its probible and ok buy just kinda pricey. Whats kelly blue on it.

The car fax on my car is perfect becuase I always leave when i fly off the road but my cars been in the ditch a few times and I just fixed it everytime by myself. So my car fax is mint but in reality im on my second bumper, 3rd FMIC if you count the stocker, Like my 3rd axel replacment and a bunch of little tie rods, rod ends and ball joints. You gotta pay to play

But any way my point is have some one who works on evos look at it because car fax is only good when the stealership has something to do with fixing the car, which i never do so you would never know i love to slide my car all around town. Most evo owners take pride in working on their cars so their could be some hidden issues.

+1 on this, with that kind of mileage you have to worry about the basic routine maintenance, and more importantly if it was done on time. If the seller can show you proof and document it then your good to go if not then I would steer clear.

Its over due for a timing belt @ 114k miles, if it needs one so that's going to wind up being $500-$800 depending on where you get it done, fluid changes $200 easy, plugs $100, etc, etc... I could go on and on but I think you get the idea...

If money is an issue in making your decision on buying an evo then you shouldnt buy one because it is not a cheap car to fix or maintain...

Not sure where you guys getting these prices for maintanance, seriously... probably from a dealer. Timing belt is the only expensive part, but doing it every 60k isnt bad. I think the price for this MR is good! milage dosnt mean ****, sounds like this car is clean and adult driven, maybe the guy dosnt drive that much? whos buying it. I say go for it.

In virginia you can get a transportation document for I think $30-$50 bucks. I think the title has to be in your name. I would recommend getting there early. If you decide to buy it then get to the the DMV start the title transfer, get your insurance on it, and see if they will give you the transportation document. It should be good in NC but I'm not 100% on that. The document will state the point A to point B for the trip of the car, but that is it. You cant legally drive it anywhere else. Good luck. Maybe call the NC DMV and check the validity of the VA doc.
