Cam Opinons Please

Hey guys need some tips....

Im in the process of getting some parts together for my evo 8....At the moment I just have a TBE, o2, cone filter, and a hallman mbc.

Im having trouble deciding on which size cams I sould get 268's or 272s?

how many lbs is it safe to set up with these cams without a tune (will be getting tune next month.)

My goal at the "moment" is to get atleast 380-400 to the wheels.

will this setup work decent with the evo 8 stock fmic? how about injectors how much til you have to upgrade

Hope im not being a pest...just would like to get into a short convo with some of you guys.

272's , that way you have enough breathing room.
You will need a tune with cams no matter what boost you will be running.

As far as injectors, you will need bigger for 400WHP and a diff turbo.

to answer your question, 272s...

On a side note, search GSC S1 or S2s... from the research I have done on cams those seem to be the ones to go with.

I'd do some more research if I were you... cams are a pretty big decision/pain in the *** to redo... I'd be 100% sure before pulling the trigger... just my opinion

Not trying to hijack this thread but I'm in the same situation he is. After I install my cams I'll be getting a tune a day or two later. Tuner is about 2-3 hours away but it should be safe to drive there with cams installed and no tune correct?

Should be fine as long as you don't boost. I drove 5hrs to my tuner never going over 5psi the drive home made up for it though
