i guess it depends on the car? b/c i was told from some others that drive-ability was fine when the ACD lights were on.

 

oh he was still able to drive it around, it just felt like a 2 way diff lol

but yes it would also depend on how messed up the ACD was.

 

you wont feel any thing if just the pump didnt work, now if the differential it self go bad then yes you cannot turn easily

This is totally off topic, but is "gifting" a car illegal? Is it a big deal if the seller documents the sale price a little lower to help the buyer save some $?

if ACD pump is out, dont buy unless its a great deal.. the pump alone i was quoted for 2000 with install from mitsu, and mine is a 05 evo.. luckily it was just a fuse! (all 3 acd options were on).. look up the sound on youtube of the acd pump going out its very different
