So i am looking at purchasing my first evo this coming Thursday. i have found a dealership that has 4 in stock. i am paying what they want mainly because they have a warranty. well i have been searching for A WW evo for a while because i like the white well the dealership has 4 in stock ww TB yellow and red. the only one that doesn't have the SSL package is the WW evo. they are all 2005 VIII's. the red is slightly modded but i dont want red anyway. the rest are stock. is it wrong for me to feel like i should not worry about the SSL package and just get the white evo which is what i have been looking for? or should i spare the extra money and buy yellow or black both colors i wouldn't mind having that come with the SSL package? they all pretty much have the same milage and are around 19-21k. they are stock with clean 1 owner carfax reports. so i would like to get the opinions of you guys what do you think?

 

lol well i say go with the red, just cause i have red lol (jk) honestly i would go with a stock car with decent mileage and start modding it yourself, a lot more worth it and less problems

 

Are they all the same price? I think the SSL is nice, but I think having your first colour choice is waaaaay more important. The WW should be cheaper and IMO it's the best colour.

I would be picky to a point. Paint is about 90% of the look of the car so I would stick to your first preference all things being semi-equal.

You could probably piece an aftermarket system better than SSL anyways.

 

Go with the one you want but I have the SSL package and I just wanna say its freaking awesome. If you were on the fence I would say SSL, but it depends one what you want. If you want a full racing evo then you shouldn't go with the SSL because the leather and sub and sunroof add weight, like 100lbs of weight.

 

well they are all stock except the red. i cant get red i have had 2 red cars an integra and a 91 jetta both the worst luck i could ever have. i personally like black and white but the yellow evo is amazing. i agree that i should go with what i want which is why im leaning towards the white but he wants well what he wants he knows what he has and he knows how few come around. i personally feel it would be better if i got the white cause im sure i could always pick up a set of leathers which is all i really care about in the SSL package. sound to me is for cruising with my friends. but when im driving i like the windows down radio off and just listen to the engine im a gear head its what i like haha. engines calm me so sound to me is nothing important im good with audio i can do it my self its just the leather seats. is it hard to come across them?

 

the warranty is worthless.. ill be honest with you, only because i dont want you to find out the hard way..lol but honesttly i love WW =]

 

Oh yeah, forgot about the sunroof! Yeah, it's close, but I would still go with colour choice over sunroof, stereo almost anything actually.

 

lets put it this way i have pretty much 3 evo's i get to test drive thursday well 4 i guess cause i can say i might want the red haha. but i will pretty much pick off of what i feel is the best buy. lowest miles best condition for the lowest price. but i also feel that personal preference is a must which would be the white. well i also prefer the leather ahha sunroof and sound dont matter. so its hard for me to choose =(

Get the white one. If you don't you'll be kicking your own *** for not getting the color choice you wanted.

It's a HELL of a lot more expensive to paint a car your preference than it is to buy a set of headlights with the fogs and HIDs (which is really the only bonus from the SSL IMO).

 

When buying a car go with the 1rst color of your choice, in your case go with the Wicked White its a nice color for the evo. 2nd you can always go with RR...

 

i also have another question i have seen the evo 8 bumper but the center part with the emblem is almost like it is cut out? how is this done?

 

Front or rear?

If you're talking about the front the Evo 8 emblem is built into the bumper. The Evo 9 bumper has the emblem attached to it but it is removable. Is this what you are talking about?

Chances of you finding another 05 Lightning Yellow with SSL are very rare. If the mileage is low and it's mint, I would select that one.
