Evo 9's have a bigger turbo than the 8's.

05 Evo 8's have a bigger hotside than the 03 and 04 Evo 8's.

I have an 05 8 SSL, is that what it is then? an SSL? not a GSR?

The was no GSR in the USDM, just as there was no MR SE. They're terms we use on the forums. You have an Evolution VIII SSL or an Evolution VIII GSR SSL in forum speak.
