I am soon to buy a evo, I do not know to much about the car other then it's sexy and peformance is pretty much amazing..

I just have a question, the MR? RS? or just a plain EVO? I would love a GSR but I don't seem to find any for the VIII

also what would be the best year to buy?

 

MR lighter with a 6 speed
RS striped down version stronger 5 speed
GSR stronger 5 speed, you should see more of these one's around.
get the 05 because it has acd if you want an 8.

So i should wait on the perfect GSR? Rather then just going ahead and buying a RS?

 

RS doesn't have power windows <-- should be reason enough to not get an rs, unless you're planning on using it for track/racing only.

 

Unless having no power windows and a car that is bare bones with less to go wrong does not bother someone. Then that is not a reason at all not to buy it

 

well then, I don't mind rolling down windows so thats the only thing diffrent from a GSR and a RS?

RS also doesn't come with anti-lock brakes fyi

No Power Windows (I personally don't care)
Power Door Locks (Most add an alarm anyway)
No ABS (Again don't care)
No Wing
Less sound deadening
No trunk lining

You mentioned VIII's the 04 VIII RS has a front LSD but No ACD that the GSR models did not have.

05 All Evos had ACD w/front LSD

 

Personally I would look for a IX. But if you must have a VIII get an 05.

 

I have been looking for a 05 8 ACD draws me to it also the stronger 5 speed. if you dont mind the -'s of the rs pick one up because yhou will get a much better price on a rs than a gsr save accouple 1k.

mmmm lol in my opinion the 9 gsr is the best possible choice.
