Rb26dett
there are several reasons that i would see being issues! the rb26 is quite a long engine, much like the 2jz.. and wouldnt even fit in the engine bay of an evo without completely cutting out the firewall and doing extensive fab work. in that aspect, the v8 was a better option as its almost a foot shorter than the rb motor..
the answer im sure your looking for is YES! it can be done, anything can be done with enough money! you give the car to a shop with extensive fabrication expertise, they can do it. and yes, it would be unique. but the cost would be astronomical and completely not worth what youd have sitting in your driveway!

Why bother with RWD, if someone is going to do this, keep the drivetrain in tact and go all out AWD.
It's cool dreaming up swaps, but all that people end up with is a bunch of attention that they are craving and a useless car that cost as much as a legally registered R32-33 in the US.

The RB engine has been dropped into a scooby in the UK for a drift car. Work very well and it all fit pretty well. No reason why this wouldn't work in an Evo. Obviously not the best choice in the world but for SOME applications, it probably is.

just the thought makes me drool but that engine its pretty long. but I would keep it awd.ive seem that rwdv8 evo and didn't like it.i think that if someone would know exactly where to put the engine mounts and get some axles this project would be on the way.
Subies already have a tranny tunnel, that would make things MUCH easier.
only rotated engine that truly belongs in an evo:

Norris design's evo w/ rotated 4G63 and still AWD

Interesting, sorry if it's been answered in other threads, but what's the advantage of having rotated engine + AWD still intact? sending more direct power to rear? or maybe, since they just can...?
