blew turbo:(

it happens lol but th question is did i get stuff in my oil and could i spin a bearing. lol not gona lie ive been on edge about it. but what is everyones storys here about there turbos going and theyre engines being fine? can i get som feedback? oh and it was just a stock 9 turbo

What is going on with it. Smoking, seized bearing, no boost. Need more info.

Also if you check your oil and see metal, that's a bad thing.

when your turbo blows, you'll usually get the famous howl at spool (and almost no psi at all)... remove intake and you should be able to feel the play in the turbo. if you have metal particles in the oil, then you got bigger issues, my friend... probably your bearings

Yup i got that howl lol but theres some side to side play but thats about it from what we can tell. But its bad side to side

haha yeah....thought about that... but i gotta drain me oil today prolly and see whats up but i drove it for like 5 miles to the destination i neeed to get cause i honestly thought it was a boost leak but ik its broke inside the center cartradge or however you spell it haha but yea ive been talking with em and stuff so well see i guess

Youll see smoking in the rearview especially when you floor it oil in the intake too alot of it. Your car will smoke like theres a bad headgasket.

Smoked kinda bad behind me but there wasnt much oil anywhere lol And didnt smoke as bad as a head gasket

your bearing is most likely fine as there was no engine noise just the sound of your turbo in a death throw. thats a new motor in your car and it wasnt pushed as hard as you think.. just relax and save up and purchase which ever turbo you think you want during this long rochester winter, get a new clutch and have fun next year

Agreed. Rather than troubleshooting an unfamiliar issue as a recent Evo owner, why not save yourself a lot of time, aggravation, and trial and error, and let someone look at the car who works on Evos each and every day.
