I don't think this is much of an issue. It affects performance when the pan is so full of oil that the bottom of the crankshaft has do drag through it as it spins. I myself have just a bit more oil in the car than the full line. Remember to check the oil level when the engine hasn't run in a while! Otherwise there will still be a lot of oil in your head that hasn't drain back into the pan, and you can easily overfill.

Any weight recommendations?
I wouldn't recommend MB1. I know too many cars that have ruined motors with it. Most recent example is my friend with a mazda 3 that spun its bearing just before 60k. The car is an econobox. The engine isn't even boosted/tuned...

Oh, I haven't heard that before. So Mobil 1 isn't a good oil?? What would you recommend?

hope you are happy but I think 21k for a 60k car is a lot, not including tax and title after that.

Yes, it's terrible oil, which explains its standing as the factory fill on many high-performance machines including the Evolution.

I'd recommend motul or amsoil. There are others like redline, royal purple, and some castrols that are reputed to be good too but motul and amsoil are the ones I know well and the only ones that I know for sure are 100% synthetic.

As for Mr.Sarcastic up above, being recommended by manufacturers does not automatically make for good oil. I'm sure mitsu also recommends you run only OEM parts for everything else but chances are you don't. Based on the literature and test results I've seen Mobil1 always seems to perform the worst. Its also suspiciously found around engines that somehow prematurely need rebuilds. The last point is more of a personal experience but I'm not the only one that feels that way.

Mint. JDM rear and you're set. Nice price and nice find! Switch to AMSOil, don't use Mobil 1. It came from the factory because OEM is sooo amazing!!! (NOT)

You're new here, and you don't seem very familiar with this platform as well as the work that went into looking at suitable oil products. Might not be a bad idea to search and familiarize yourself with the issue before dispensing advice.

Yeah it was a little high, but the car is mint! No leakages of any fluid, drives solid, no rattles and the interior is MINT. It also had a brand new FP Red installed as well as other goodies. So I'm not complaining on price. Also the 60K has been done.

You will enjoy your car for sure. I just got mine a few months back and am thoroughly enjoying it! I bought my car at 57k and with a rebuilt title and paid 21k (CDN) for it. But the mileage and the history on the car is not what really matters. They are merely indicators. What is important is the shape of the car and its parts as it currently sits right now.

And I second the JDM bumper. Heres mine:

Yes I am very new here and not that familiar with evos. Which is generally why I rarely give advice. I don't want the OP to take my word as is. I just want him to be aware and do his homework. I'm fairly confident I have chosen the right oil in my car after doing my own. OP should do the same.

Since you have a Red, you should use FP's recommend oils which do not include Mobil1. There's a huge thread on the Engine forum regarding this very issue. Look for it and make sure to read EVERY page.

I also found out this thing has injectors, FP Red, MBC, Injen Intake, UICP, LICP, cams "Not sure which ones" and I'm guessing upgraded clutch. I'm going to look this weekend and see if the fuel pump has been upgraded. I'm also trading with a buddy of mine who sells lots of Evo's my stock exhaust for a JUN 3 inch.
You didnt know the car had these mods on it when you bought it?

Nope, I bought from a Dealer. Car felt fast but it had stock exhaust. I didn't notice the turbo and injectors until I got home and really inspected the car. I put the JUN BL on myself. I obviously did notice the injen intake and upper and lower piping.
