Evo ix weird exhaust question

So got my turbo xs exhaust a few day ago and went to test fit it and relaized that my factory exhaust doesnt have a flange directly after the cat.... Is this weird? the cars completely stock and it doesnt look like anything significant has been done to the exhaust ever... i know the po said that mistubishi had done something to the exhasut at one time but why this? just asking if this is normal or what. thanks

So thats not even the stock cat? or the same as the piping after it? grrrr. this is stupid, why the hell is it that everytime i find something wrong with this car, it was done by the place the previous owner took it to for warranty work.

if it were the stock cat the rear o2 sensor would be installed in it instead of in the catback. also the piping would be the same size as the catback

to know for sure you would have to see what the code is first and then it could pretty much tell you, like i know the rear o2 cel is P0420

you can remove the rear o2 sensor without any ill effects, the code can simply be disabled within the ecu. i dont run a rear o2 and havnt for the past 7 or 8 months and dont have a check engine light
