Buying first evo? Help

So my dad is going to buy me and evo around mid January to early spring and I live in Wisconsin. I've been looking on places such ascraigslist and autotrader and evotrader to find one. I have found a couple that I'm interested in but not exactly what I want. Where should I look for getting an evo 9 preferably with no more than 45k miles. I would also prefer a very close to stock one but minor things such as an exhaust and intake and such would be ok. Does anyone have any tips or advice on where to look for one in Wisconsin?

Be Patient!! Don't jump at the first deal! It will pay off. You can find a deal like i did about 3 weeks ago

Look at the for-sale forums on here too to get an idea what stuff is going for.

As one of the previous posters said, be patient. As you probably have figured out, there aren't that many of them for sale in Wisconsin. I passed on a couple and it took a long time, but in the end I'm really glad I waited for the right one. It helps if you are willing to go to the Chicago area too. I found some here on EvoM, on Autotrader.com, Cars.com and even one at CarMax! Good luck with your search.

What everyone else said.

I would also like to see the car up on a lift to really inspect it well. Maybe if you have a garage that you often go to or something you can take it there to get a good look at it....

I have also been searching in the Chicago area. I figured with it being a bigger city that it would have alot more to choose from. But seeing as ive been waiting for a couple years to get one of these when it comes time to seriously searching for one you get very anxious and want it right away. But thank you for the help. I know it will pay off soon enough

you want a clean one? then dont buy one from the midwest. i flew to texas to buy mine. its nice to only worry about dust falling in my eyes when working under it instead of rust.
