Is a 06'-07' Evo worth it?

I'm new here. My name is Zach. Just wanted to know if the car is worth it or should I look at another year. I am 17. This will be my first car(MY PARENTS ARE NOT BUYING ME THE CAR!!!!). I am a subie lover. I honestly used to hate evo's until I actually drove my friends. Thinking about buying one(Also looking at the new camaro but I don't think it's gonna happen I'm to used to slidding around in snow). Any information or advice will greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

Ok, first why is this on the evo x section?
second, there's no 07 evos in the US
and finally, you are asking if the evo is worth it, in an evo forum?
oh, and in before the lock

and if you want advice, I wouldn't get an evo at your age, try some other cars first, get real driving experience and then go after a car you can drive, and not the other way around.

I gotta agree with this. Even if you find a used 2008 Evo X, you will have to worry about how it was driven and if the maintenance was kept up. Also they are still going to be in the mid to upper $20,000 range. So between a car payment, car insurance, and maintenance is it really a smart idea at the age of 17? I would take the money buy yourself a beater for your first car, get some driving experience, and then just maybe think about buying an evo.

^^^ Youre first car should absolutely be a POS. That way you can really beat the crap out of it and actually learn stuff. A newer nice car will need much less work and probably be way too much car for your maturity (of course you'll argue, but its fact not assumption that your still growing up)

If you want something with power you can learn on and grow with, get a 1g. AWD turbo, easy to mod, lots of stuff stuff to learn, easy to work on, but not to complicated.

My first car was a 76 Corolla. RWD, 1.6 liters of fury! I jumped that thing, smashed in all 4 corners (one side not my fault, other side was cause it was used as a backstop to our 4" quarter pipe), smashed in the roof from falling off the quarter pipe, crushed hood from disasters (BMX thing)... So many good memories of the crap I put that car through.

Now Ive had so many cars and never taken anything to a mechanic cause I learned on something easy and worked my way up from there.

I love STI's and used to absolutly despise these(IDK why). Umm I have drove many many cars:
2006 Evo MR 12,600 miles *stock*
2007 STI 24,700 *stock*
2002 Mustang GT 60,000 *not so stock lol*
2001 Jeep Liberty Idk mileage it was my brothers old winter car *stock*(Traded in for 02' Stang GT)
1995 Mustang GT 57,000 *stock* (totalled, this was my bro's first car and some guys that didn't like him slammed his brakes on him while driving a big pickup truck and ya R.I.P.)
1996 Cavilier IDK mileage my dads old car *stock*
Hopefully by now you have gotten the point I have drove alot of cars and if for a second you think I can't handle an evo you are sadly mistaken. I can keep goin on with my list if you'd like. Anyways I want an 2006 EVO(prefferably black or grey)with low mileage and was not someones rag doll, sex toy, or someones garage project. Can anyone help me out? As you should also know I am very very straight forward.

Oh yeah I would also like to mention I have a job as an electrician, I roughly make $700 a week, and I have $10,000 in the bank as a down payment.

See all these people on here on gonna go and say "Oh your too young, you can't afford it, get the subie, BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH" if that is what I'm gonna get then I shouldn't even be on here. When I ask about a car the car in the title is the car I want info and advice on. Common sence!!!

This is the one I called about but I haven't had the time to drive there and there are no pics for me to see. I don't wanna go there and the car looks like a crossbread of a honda civic and a corolla.(Not bashing the car but some idiots out there buy a car like this and kill it. You can blame this on NFS and Midnight Club)
