Wintertime: Turn Down the Boost?

Its getting mighty cold around New England and I noticed my boost levels are jumping a bit high at WOT. Do you guys usually turn down the boost for the wintertime?

I have a MBC so should be easy to do, unfortunately my tuner is 3 hours away. I didn't want mess anything up by turning down the boost. Advice?

As the air gets colder it gets more dense and you will see an increase in boost because of this.

Just turn the boost back down to the level you were tuned at and you will be fine.

Also, FWIW, you won't damage your car by turning the boost down.

Its getting colder in my area as well, mine started popping and sputtering @ WOT. I turned my boost down by 2psi and regapped my plugs down to .022 and it runs perfect now! Good luck!

Any chance that not adjusting boost levels could cause a random misfire code? I just started seeing that code now in the winter.

A random misfire - like P0300?

Or just disable the P0300 yourself and keep your current ROM: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...0300-test.html

Your car will run smoother than ever

I was just reading this last night:

Electronic boost controller (EBC): They are obviously electronic and require a little more setup time. They allow you to dial in your boost more accurately and some allow more than one preset setting (ex: high and low boost). They also compensate for changes in weather (density of the air) and are less likely to experience boost creep in the cold.
I know its really not a fix for right now but something you can consider for the future winters ahead. but yeah it would be quicker and cheaper to just turn down the boost. Your tires may love you more for it too
