New user, E8 ecu question

Hello everybody

Can anybody explain why E8s have 2 different ecu connections (3 & 4 connectors)
From which E8 model is 3 connector ecu ?

And also, what do these mean:

1. E8 ecu
2. E8 260 ecu
3. E8 MR ecu

found one zip file somewhere on forums (don't remember where), it contains all Evo I-IX pinouts, and there are three diagrams for E8 (E8 MR, E8 260 and just E8) they are all different pinouts

I asked, because your comments seem to be referring to Evo VIII available in the UK. You probably found the info on MLR, the English Evo forum. AFAIK, there's no difference in USDM VIII ECUs.
