will it last for a 1000 miles?
i have a 2005 MR 6speed with stock tranny transfer case. i plan on putting in a fp red and putting it in i only drive the car 4 or 5 months a year so i at most average 1000 miles a year the car has 9896 original miles on it now and mise well still be brand new. my mods
ams-ic licp upic and boost controller
full 3" turbo back exhaust
megen 02 houseing
warlbro 255
act clutch and flywheel with 200 miles on them
this years mods are
kelford cams
arp head studs
1000cc injectors
evo9 turbo converted to fp red
valve springs
things im going to buy before sean ivey retunes my car
5 layer head gasket
retainers
i have a bunch of questions that i need the forums help with.
will the motor hold for a year till i build the rest of the motor tranny and tc next winter?
is there anything else i should buy?
since i average a 1000 miles or less if i spend the money and buy a drum of c16 should i run race fuel all year?
any advice you can give me is greatly appreciated sorry its so sloppy i did this from my phone at work thanks for all the advice

should i get it tuned for pump only, or pump and race fuel? does anyone think i should run only race fuel? thanks for the advice guys and john i just added u on fb hit me up
Everyones gonna say it'll be fine, and for the most part they're right. I'll say that if you're nice to the car, it'll be fine, but the more power you push, the shorter the lifespan of the drivetrain. If you plan to push the limits of the hard parts, get two tunes, one for race fuel, one for pump. If it's only DD, pump will be fine.
Im sure the 5 Layer he is talking about is for an Evo 9. I ran an evo 8 3 layer in my 9 befor finding out this shop set me the wrong one.
But to answer your question, I personally would get it tuned for both, just in case. Im sure hes not going to charge you much more if you get it done at the same time.
But heck yeah get the drum of c16, it would be sooooo worth it. itd be so fun to drive you would want to drive your car more!

Why are you going to buy a headgasket? Did you blow the stocker? If you wanna run C-16 then get the drum and have two switchable maps.
Why not just get bigger injectors and run E-85 fulltime, or have pump/E-85 switchable maps? Is E-85 not available in your area?

i bought the car in 06 with 4868 on it for 27500 cash i have a 2010 insight that is my daily driver i have a 99 civic coupe that is my beater and a 1990 240sx that is my drift car. im 20 yrs old and literally love my evo more than anything in the world (and b4 you ask NO IM NOT ONE OF THE A$$HOLES WHOS PARENTS BUY THEM CARS) i work 70 hrs a week to afford it all and the insurance on my evo is 600 a month thats why its on the road 4 months a year. i willtake every precaution to make sure my evo will see no harm on the weekends i do chose to drive it. its seen rain 3 times and has only seen snow thru my heated garage window. i live in poughkeepise new york, so i dont know if e85 is around here. i gotta do somemore research in to making sure the car will have no problems with the set up. (i would wait a yr and spend another 20k to avoid one thing broken on my car cause i would feel way to bad if i broke something on my car) and i know that this is just a car and its ment to be driven hard. but ima buy another evo to do that this one is my baby (it still smells brand new) thanks for the help guys

what is the best head gasket to get? will the 1000cc injectors be enough for the set up? should i get valves since i already have the valve springs and retainers? is it safe to launch the car even a few times or will it blow the tc the 1st launch.? should i get a new ecu or keep it stock?
Ur short block is pure stock right?
I'd suggest getting the Cosworth Headgasket 86mm 1.3mm bore
1000cc injectors are more than enough! 750-850cc actually would do the job
The valve springs/retainers complement each other. If ur gonna get the springs done do the retainers as well. Supertech/GSC.
Do not launch or even think of pushing the car without it being tuned.
With ur setup u be fine on a stock ecu reflash
PS. U might consider getting a maf translator.
