Any recirculated BOV would do the same. Should of just went with a tial, or something else good thats recirculated that will hold more boost than the stock IX.

****, you should of just installed the recirculation pipe and ran the HKS. Many GTR guys run HKS with absolutely no issues (recirculated).

My IX bov started to leak so I swapped it out for the synapse.... It is one of my favorite things I've done with the car. Doesn't sound ricey and holds the pressure like no other. Just don't kink any of the vacuum lines or it flutters to much.

My ix dv starts to open up at 25 psi when Im doing a boost leak test. It holds fine under that, luckily Im tuned at 23 psi so no worries. I have been researching a good dv that would hold higher boost and the synapse dv seems to be getting good feedback from guys on here.

As for the comment about the hks ssqv bov, imo it wasnt that great when it came out like 10 years ago, and nothings really changed.

I think it's safe to say that the Tial is a nice choice if your stock 9 valve is leaking.

When you recirculate it, you lose the blow off sound. You spend the money to prevent leaks.

I used the WORKS DV. Its the oem DV with a stiffer spring. Had the best driveability of all DVs ive ever used.

OMG, back in the day all my friends had the HKS SSQV. I personally can't understand why anyone would want a bov that sounds like a cricket rubbing one out, but to each their own.

IX BOV
mine also came with a hks ssqv and although driveability was fine, the noise was unbearable! i couldnt even leave the driveway without it sounding like a crow getting raped by a pig.

I can't wait to change mine out. I bought the car with mine, and am not impressed with the driveability.

Another thing are you sure that the bov wasn't a knock-off? there are plenty of those circulating around.

Mine came with the HKS and the driveability and idle were horrible. Swapped to the IX DV within the first week and I couldnt be happier!
