um....is there anyway to tell if it was changed? other than service records? no. if it's around the mileage where it needs it, have it done if you're in doubt.

diaqueen is available at most dealers, but you can order it from vendors on this forum for cheaper. also, look at what's required in the 60k service and save yourself money by doing it yourself.

the only thing I had done was the timing belt. the drivetrain fluid flushes, oil change, and the spark plugs you can do yourself.

to the guy who paid 1700 for the 60k service, you got ASSJACKED. the 60k service at the dealership I bought my car from was around $900. I had it done by KevinD in dallas though, and had another clutch/flywheel installed at the same time along with some other little things, and all that together cost me less than 1500.

to the OP, look around for good shops in your area that can do the timing belt job for you. the parts aren't very expensive, so if you can find someone to not kill you on labor, it's not that bad. like i said, the drivetrain fluid flushes, oil change, and especially spark plug change can be done by you for a lot less money.

holy crap i almost threw up...1700 i just bought this thing, But 0dub may have saved me. the dealer (not mitsuibishi) put a new clutch in it. all fluids already changed. I guess when i go to Mitsu tomorrow i will see if they can do a history check on the vin??? i think the timing belt on my 2nd gen eclipse was like 300.00.

aklso i have to take this thing on a road trip about 2000 miles in about 15 days. I hope i can get the belt replaced by then
