Option 1 sounds best to me if u can upgrade fuel components. 450 horese power will be alot easier swapping turbos and manifolds plus with the right fuel system shouldn't have a problem seeing 450 on stock internals. Not sure on all the restrictions your facing but water meth is a great option too if u upgrade your turbo.

A stock ported exhaust manifold has made 600-650 whp. You will not be held back by that. i say stock manifold with a FP red, or black. Getting you to your desired power levels without the T3 turbo lag.

If you are RACING, then the following is important :

(1) Engine reliability
(2) Engine performance
(3) Broad power curve (peak numbers are nice, but a broad curve is better for most tracks)

Based upon the rules (what you posted), I would HIGHLY recommend building the motor and using the stock manifold (ported) and an FP turbo. I personally LOVE the HTA Green for the street and think it would be great for almost every track in North America (Willows and Road America have some longggg straights that might be able to use more hp)....

Next up you'll need to focus on handling and brakes as that is what is most often overlooked in racing, yet where there is a ton of potential...

This is the right answer big dog no doubt about it espcially since your doing time trials. Plus you wont see the power in a bigger turbo tell your up top

If you are looking for max spool and power of 450md then you should get a FP Red and send it to Owen's for BB upgrade It would spool about the same as a stock turbo but will make over 450md. Also you will want an external dump to help top-end power from falling off due to increased back pressure. Also don't forget to add a nice set of GSC S2s. They will give you 40hp gain and no sacrifice of spool over the stock cams!

Actually Chad's BBK-B would be a nice choice too!

If rules don't allow internal engine mods then he can't build the engine can he? Does this mean that he is restricted to stock internals? Just wondering? Can the head and manifolds be ported?

EDIT: Sorry guys I reread the OP and I now get it that he has two options....Duh Sparky!
