hey all,
I have been around for a couple of months doing my hw before i buy one. Now, I just sold my 350z and am ready to get into an evo.
I have been looking at the classified section for a long time, but could not find one I really like, or the ones i like are really far from me.
I was wondering if there are other sites or forums besides autotrader and ebaymotors to find a car?
I live in richmond, va and hope to find one nearby.
Any help would be appreciated!

Maybe craigslist? I would honestly wait around for a clean one to pop up here on the boards, so you have no regrets later on because you bought some piece of crap car on some other site. If you decide to buy a car off of CL or autotrader I suggest you post up pics of the car and mods so some members can help you out

That is what Im hoping to do, find one here on the forum.
I guess being carless for a couple of days is already making me desperate. lol

 

look on here there are alwaysclean ones forsale! an i found mine on autotrader but i made aroad trip to go get one. trust me the drive is worth it

 

check the forums, and cars.com, autotrader.com

forums are a good place because the history of the car will likely be pretty well documented on the forums

It may be a little bit of a drive for you but they have nice cars and a great sales team. And its worth calling them because they move so many cars that the inventory on their site isn't always up to date. Let me know if you get one from there so you can tell them that I referred you. Oh and I got mine from there too

i was looking at their inventory. They seem to have some nice evos with lower miles.. were you able to negotiate the price cuz i emailed them and didn't get a response back yet. I hope to find out the lowest OTD price before I make a trip there..

Well negotiation really depends on how much cash you have to put down and what they paid for the particular car you're looking at...and in referrence to the comment on them being expensive, the cars are coming from a dealership and are going to be a little higher than one coming from a private seller. IMO their inventory isn't priced too awfully high as most of their cars have respectable miles/great mods. They don't buy junk. The advantage to buying from this particular dealer is that their sales team is great in negotiating terms for the loans. IF you call you need to talk to Rob. He'll take care of you. You might not have gotten a reply yet because its the Holidays. I'm sure you'll be able to get in touch with someone on Monday.

I will call them on monday. I actually got preapproved for a loan up to 24000 from my bank.

 

If you got pre-approved for a 24k loan from your bank, you might just want to take your time and find a clean one on the forums. Usually people go through dealerships because they know that dealerships have better relationships with banks than themselves. In my case, I was trading in a vehicle so I wanted to do everything at once. The main thing to do when searching for a vehicle like this, is to be patient and not to rush into anything. These cars are a lot of fun and its easy to get caught up in the hype of test-driving and picking out and what not and making rash decisions. Take your time, be patient, and the best of luck to you. Keep us updated on your quest.
