if you have a cat then you have to put it before the cat.....anywhere between 9-3 oclock position.

i would put it near the flange on the downpipe towards the cat/test pipe. on my last downpipe i had it placed at the 12 o'clock position and ran the wire directly up into the cabin from there

Did mine exactly like this. Worked perfectly. On mine, the O2 sensor wouldn't quite fit through the hole in the floor, so I had to enlarge it by maybe 1/16 inch with a Dremel. Also, I used the existing body plug, cut the center out to clear the plastic harness cover, then cut a slit in it to slide over the harness cover. Finally, I siliconed it back in place to keep any water out.

What happens when the exhaust moves after you hit a bump on a road? Is the O2 sensor acting as an exhaust stopper?

No. Not at all. If you look at the picture, the DP is supported by two exhaust hangers right at the same location.

nope, the exhaust is not able to move enough for it to ever be a problem other than jumping the car and landing on a bump that can only crush the exhaust in that exact position

i never jacked my car up to change out the exhausts, but depending on how small/large you are it might be different. i had my sensor installed at the 12 position on my last downpipe and now on my ams exhaust i just used the rear o2 bung since i wired my wideband into the ecu

picture a few posts up the left side is towards the front of the car
