I had this WB in my eclipse, nothing but good things to say about it. And the install is very easy. Nice write-up.

+1 - I used this as a guideline to install my ZT2 over the weekend. Thanks cij911!

guys one ? here!!
i want to get the Zeitronix but with boost and EGT as well.

How easy is it to read the LCD readout for Boost!
does it refresh quick enough or should i just a needle type guage as i feel they
are easier to read!

your thoughts on this??????????

You wanna see, how about realtime my man..

of course this is laptop logging not that expensive display, just buy the zt2 without the display and use a laptop or buy a $40 palm pilot

i know you can view in realtime but would it move as quick as an guage.

on my STi i had one of those PSi 3 units and they did not refresh very quick at all!

thats why i am asking
i am just thinking it is maybe easier to see a moving dial than a digital readout.

i would like to hear from someone that actually uses the Zeitronix as a boost guage.

thanks

i do use my zt2 as a boost gauge, it is way more accurate than a boost gauge. it actually better for reviewing and tuning. You can't look at a boost gauge or a monitor while driving, or should i say its unsafe to.

Whoop,
The plot on the laptop screen "moves" much faster than a guage. 74 times per second to be exact. Zt-2 outputs each value at such fast speed. You can adjust the numeric refresh value to your own perception speed.

Zetrionix thanks for the all the replies and info!
See it just makes more sense to have one of these units instead of 3-4 guages
doing the same job

so you saying that the LCD will refresh and change data at 75 samples per second
which is quick enough!!

thanks

It refreshes many times faster than your brain can even process the info.

I was referring to the laptop screen logging 74 data points per second. You want logs to refresh fast since you are able to go back and analyze at a slow speed or even point by point. The LCD refreshes 3 times per second, which is a good rate for human perception.

I personally would recommend getting an inexpensive boost gauge (e.g Autometer) that you can see with your peripheral vision and get the MAP sensor for logging and tuning. The MAP sensor will be crucial to see what your real boost is and then once tuned you will know the characteristics of the boost gauge and know if there is ever an issue (e.g. boosting low)...Also, my autometer gauge is extremely accurate based upon my ZT2 logs.

some pics

Everything took about 4 hours with no rush.
Some maybe helpful info:
- The hole is just a tad too small, takes about 3 minutes to make it slightly bigger with a file.
- 22 mm wrench for o2 sensor.
- Get the splicers from radioshack, made by 3M for 18-20 gauge. Don't waste money on a boomslang.
- Radioshack also has hook-and-loop (plastic velcro) things i used to mount the screen.

There are only 5 taps needed for zeitronix. There are more taps pictured that I wanted to make clear are not required for use with the Zeitronix unit.
