Headers?

http://ttp-engineering.com/catalog/t...iii-p-152.html

The Megan, exhaust header, that bolts on 15 whp.

Does anyone know much about this mod? Is it CARB legal in CA?

Thanks!

99% it won't be CARB legal, only one that MAY be carb legal is the DC sports one.

Oh, actually, cancel that. I just searched and apparently, even DC sports is not CARB legal:

Your best bet would be a ported and coated stock piece, it'll flow more than enough to support any turbo you can run on Cali's 91 octane gas.

I seriously hope your not considering purchasing that from TTP. No it is not CARB legal in CA. Get a ported stocker and you have nothing to worry about.

Besides what has already been said, Megan manifolds have a great record of cracking after relatively short periods of being installed. Tubular manifolds are nice to look at, but cost quite a bit to get one that will actually last...take it from me, don't buy a manifold unless its brand new, carries a lifetime warranty and u know who made it

I run the ported stocker from AWD, same as MAP but black coating. Diiirk who tunes for AWD runs the ported coated stocker too. My car 500whp, his car 600+ whp... its the best option, yes others look great and will give you power but if you are still stock frame turbo the ported coated unit is the best hands down

ported stock ftw especially if you're looking for something carb legal. if a cop pops your hood he'll 90% of the time write you up a ticket cuz it "looks" after market. i have a carb legal intake with papers and a sticker on the intake and i still got written up. i didn't have to pay the $100 or what ever it was, but i still had to pay like $25 i think and for WHAT? i still don't understand why i had to pay anything????

^ lol, yea Cali seems to be ridiculous with their laws for modifications on a car... in Florida if you can register it you can drive it pretty much, Ive seen some crazy cars spewing out all kinds of fumes without doors and the cops dont even flinch at it lol

Granted I understand emissions and the harm they cause but in some cases they dont realize that in fact us tuning these cars not to be pig rich is healthier for the environment especially if you swap to E85 like I have...

Not that I want to start an argument, but your statement is inaccurate. We have proprietary tooling that allows us to port nearly every inch of intake and exhaust manifolds, basically if you can see a surface it will get worked over. I have yet to see any of our competitors port to this extent, and most don't go further than a few inches into the runners / collectors.

+1 To porting the stocker. Unless it's T3, you're not going to see any real world usable gains off a stock flanged upgrade. Just a hurt wallet and feelings when it cracks on you. Too bad FP didnt make a manifold like they do for the DSM's.
