Newbie needing Advice 09 MR or X GSR

Whats up guys.... im a newbie to this site, well not really... been on here for a few months this is just my first post. anyway the name is Jay and im looking for some input and recommedations on my car purchase....

Im torn between the 2006 9MR and the 2010 X GSR SSS...

now this what im thinkin.....
2006 MR they are hard as hell to find in decent shape and not to have been beaten up by the previous owner and at a decent price range. white is what im looking for and its like almost impossible to find one in my area(Northern NJ). i think they are beautiful cars and look very raw and powerful. now i love everything about the MR espically the JDM rear bumper u can pop on there. but the 2010 X is soo sofisticated and aggressive looking all at the same time and it looks better for a man in my position, who has a family (2 girls and a wife lol). before you flame me about the car i want.. i already have a 2010 Acura MDX for the family, this is gonna be my car for my personal needs. now the 2010 has alot of features that im already comforable with such as, bluetooth, navi, cruise control, etc etc but sometimes i think it looks way too close to the regular lancer... im just torn.... im not really a huge internal car guy... i don't know about motors and bolt ons and stuff like that.... i do know that the right amount of cash and the right mechinics will get u a very powerful car and the envy of all the guys in the area.... so keep this in mind when your making your recommendation to me... i've had turbo cars in the past i know the time and effort that goes into them... so keep this in mind as well before you tell me that this might not be the car for me..... i may be an idiot when it comes to car lingo but i know how to drive and i know how get the full experience from a car like this.... like i said i've own a few already....feel free though to go into detail with you recommendation cause its what im looking for... all help is greatly appreciated!!! dont flame me, like i said im new and just looking for some guidence in my car purchasing journey!!!

before i give my opinion are you looking for a car to invest in and make your own? or are you looking for something to drop a bit of money on and then have fun in?
The X come with much more standard equipment then a IX and is already set for the average user. you might wanna have the boost increased and tuned but thats it. its all around a great car but lacks in the power department.
A IX is very disappointing for the original price luxury wise but a great performance car. A IX from the factory came with amazing power potential i changed my boost pill and tuned it and gained 95whp the week i bought it. however i didn't like that is lacked what are now basic options on most cars like dvd nav and a decent system. no subwoofer that's *** backward. i have slowly modified or have planned out how to modify most of the car and i am happy with that. it gives me something to do and i make the car my own.
if youre in to buying a car and rebuilding it from the bottom up to make it what it should have been then by all means go for the IX. if your just looking for a play toy that you can take the family to dinner in then go for the X and save yourself hours online researching and enormous amount of money in modifications.

first thanks for you input....appreciate it!!!

now im at the point where i've spent tons of money on my previous cars.... the problem with that is that im not a gear head... the money i've put into them have been pretty much... here, here's 10 grand do what u can to make this car faster and stronger... and i've had the liberty of awesome mechanics do the work for me who happen to be close friends...i never was able to explain what was done except for the easy stuff, like a new turbo, and exhust, etc etc... i love the idea of makin my car my own but i don't know whats out there for it...... to me im thinkin im just looking for a reliable car to take me from point a to point b fast and look good goin there. im guessin X is what im looking for... but the MR is sooo effin beautiful so many possiblities for it... i hear the evo x can get lots of power with basic bolt ons.... but it just lacks the raw power of the 9..... im leaning towards the X but im still not sure....

You have to remember that you aren't comparing 2 brand new models here. The IX MR is going on 5 years used so the chances of your finding a low mileage, reliable version are slowly decreasing by the day. If you are planning to daily drive this next ride, I'd be even more cautious about buying the IX MR because the last thing you want is inheriting someone else's issues, especially since you are "not a gear head".

Have you also test driven either car? They definitely offer different experiences.

The IX MR has much more sensitive steering and will feel like a go-kart when you drive it around. It is a very nimble car and you'll really appreciate its handling when you drive it near its limits.

The X GSR feels more luxurious starting with the revamped cabin and display. I actually believe that the X GSR is louder than the IX MR (stock) and the engine almost sounds like it's going to explode in front of you at near redline speeds.

The IX MR will definitely allow you to gain more power but unless you're tracking or want to be an HP *****, the difference may not be as big a deal.

I personally like the X's look better but of course the IX was the best looking one of that generation.

Your family will love the X more in refinement, you'll love the IX more in rawness.
Keep in mind the IX might come with unseen problems.
