e85

Well im thinking about changing my gas setup to e85, from 91. And was wondering what are the pros and cons to e85? it would be really good to hear some things people who ran e85 or have ran e85 in the past? what would i need for 400whp on e85?

pros = super duper power
cons = crappy gas mileage

400whp would probably be attainable with all the bolt-ons, cams, stock turbo.

To get to 400 on stock turbo, you need all the boltons, cams, larger injectors, fuel pump and a tune.

PROs:
Cheaper than race gas or pump
Runs cooler than pump
much more power than pump

Cons:
Limited availability

exhaust. bigger injectors. higher flowing fuel pump. tune. you may get 400 on a dynojet with that.

I started off on 100 octane, then to 110 octane, then made the switch to E85. One of the best things i did to my Evo. Not only does it make more power then 110 octane, it cheaper to. There is like 4 E85 pumps less then 5 miles from my house lol. The Pros are it makes more power, burns nicer, and cheaper then $6 gallon of race fuel. The Cons are switching to bigger injectors, of course a re-tune, and fuel pump setup(bigger). Besides that its worth the switch even if you are only looking for 400whp. I would say do it

not by much..... e85 have been reaching 2.99/gal and i pay 3.19/gal for 93. and if your going to DD it then it will be much more expensive to run than pump. Or you can run dual maps and switch from e85 to pump if youd like.

I average about 240 on e85...and 275 on 93...so for me e85 is my preferred fuel! Cheaper and in the long run better mpgs but I don't use it for just that reason

Power is awesome...and car runs much better on e85.

Def worth the switch.

The only cons I can thinkof is cold starts kinda suck sometimes, and the content varies. My car starts in 2-3 seperate cranks when it's between 35-40 degrees. Since the content can get as low as e70 a wideband should be mandatory when running Corn. If it's available and close to u you are golden. Availability is usually the main issue for people. There are so many pros to running it...power, your car runs smoother, good emissions, smells good lol, the miles you get per dollar is pretty close to running 91. I'm making right around 400hp/tq on my 9 with stock turbo, muse licp, walbro 255, fix 1050cc, Gruppe-s 3port, aem intake, tanabe dp, testpipe, and RRE stealth exhaust

Prob Gunna suck unless you park indoors. The 400hp goal is very easily obtainable tho. Just a few boltons and a good tune.
