Yes that is Corey's car. HKS 280 cams and Fidanza camgears. There is no problem running no timing cover. As you can see the power steering line is tied back so it cannot contact the timing gears. Nowadays ZakleeCorp makes a clear see-thru cover that you can see the gear and still run a cover.

since its his car and the cams are still on the car. i would assume the other mods are also there. I've never looked for the manual boost controller and hopefully next weekend i can drive the car once the wheel and radiator are installed. I really really appreciate the info on the car. Anything else not stock or that happen when it was totaled i should know about? i really appreciate it.

Quote: Lots of misinformation here, with some good stuff sprinkled in. I'll help you out. The 6 speed is fine. Bone stock 8 MR's can do low low 13's. 9 MR's will do high 12's with a good driver. With the mods you have, you're fine.

now for the launching. the transmission is fine for everything the 5 speed is good for. the failures that happen on the 6 speed are usually 4th gear, on road courses. like someone said gears 1-3 are strong on the 6 speed. if you take off from 3-4k and dump it, you will bog and go nowhere. If you slip from that speed you'll burn your clutch, and still not go much faster. you need to slip from at least 4-4.5k for a decent take off. to actually LAUNCH the car though, follow my steps below.

As you can see from my sig, I've got a little bit of experience with the 6 speed in the 9 MR, and my launching got me to 12's stock. congrats on the car.
^^This
The 6 speed is fine for launching, the stock clutch however might not like it very much.

It sounds like someone bought the car before it went to auction so its hard to say if they removed any of the mods. The wheels are gone from the looks of it. Not sure if he sold them or they were parted out before it went to auction. He had a cockpit controlled hallman boost controller at the bottom of the dash or in the ashtray. I don't remember.

Okay it doesn't bother me I just know they tuned it for all the mods and I didn't want a tune that didn't match the mods. It now has stock everything other than intake cams and the wiring is still there for a boost controller but I believe it's gone. I have got it up on a lift but do you think the exhaust looks aftermarket? Hopefully I will get it on a lift next weekend and see what we got. Also would u guys reccomend a bov or just keep the stock one?

I've used rockauto but the stuff they have for exterior is not always right in the system. They have tail lights pictured, but for lancer in the Evo section also fenders are pictured are from lancer wagon.

I would try this site for a good used one if the fourm doesn't have it , www.car-part.com. It's a site from diff junk yards. Good luck.
