New Member with Questions: 11 sec EvoX SE?
Hello all,
First off, let me introduce myself. I've owned a few high hp cars and very different platforms, most of which have been modded, ranging from the BMW M5 and CTS-V to the Corvette Z06 and Nissan GT-R. I also have a lot of seat time in exotics and a few supercars. I love performance cars of all types and can care less if I'm in a Bimmer or a Nissan.
Last week I just bought a beautiful new Evo X SE for my girlfriend since she needed to be able to hang with me and the crew on the highway and her Mustang GT was a bit dangerous and squirelly. Kind of a fun car but the rear would just kick out sideways and it was just a nightmare on the turns. The EvoX is the anti-Mustang. Refined, planted, and full of GRIP. We both LOVE it and I truly believe the EvoX is the greatest bang for your buck sportscar in the world. It combines practicality with performance. From the menacing looks, to the world-class transmission (yes, this is coming from a GT-R GR6 tranny driver), excellent awd system, and physics defying handling and braking capabilities, this car was the right choice
.
With all that said, we also bought the Evo with some mods in mind. Who keeps an Evo stock anyway? Our goals are very simple. Build the quickest/fastest car possible while keeping drivability and reliability and staying on a tight budget. We are shooting for a 11.9x second 1/4 mile time with a 116mph+trap speed with keeping stock turbocharger and stock SST. I believe this might be possible in the right conditions for this car. My thoughts on how to go about this without breaking the bank are as follows:
Cold Air Intake
Intercooler Piping with aftermarket BOV
Downpipe with electronic exhaust cutout
1000cc Injectors
Fuel Pump kit
Cobb Accessport with 91, 93, and E85 tunes
I am a COMPLETE
N00B so my thoughts are just based off of what I know works on the GT-R's. The Evo is a completely different car so I honestly have no clue how to go about meeting my goals. Do I need any more mods than this or do you guys recommend something else? Are any of the above mods a waste of money? Any specific brands/vendors you recommend for competitively priced quality parts or maybe there is a "kit" or package available? Will the motor and transmission survive 70k+ problem-free-miles with this setup or am I asking for trouble? Again, I am new to the Evo world so be easy!
I've searched the forums a bit but usually I will see a lot of terms thrown around which I have no idea what they mean so sorry if this question has been asked before.
My girlfriend and I are very honored to be a part of the Evo community. We are both hoping to learn about these great platforms and perhaps share some knowledge as well! I believe she has a username on here as well so maybe she will be posting on these forums as well.
THANK YOU for your patience and help! Looking forward to all the responses!

Skip the BOV, and I'd just get a real full 3" exhaust rather than a cutout. Might as well add an aftermarket intercooler and an aftermarket transmission cooler to your list too. If you plan to stick with the stock turbo then 800/850cc injectors will be enough to support E85. Cobb has plenty of good OTS maps for the Accessport, but if you plan to use their E85 map you will need to buy the specific injectors they designed the map for (I think DW 800cc, but you'll want to confirm that).
I really don't think you'll get into the 11's with a stock turbo and SST transmission though.
There are plenty of good parts options available though ranging from Cobb, MAP, ETS, AMS, etc.

Upgraded IC and Tranny cooler noted.
And about the injectors, I wasn't sure which size was sufficient enough to support E85 so 800 or 850 is fine if that is safe for E85 use.
About maps, I would most likely get a custom tune so I don't really care what the canned maps are since my tuner would be tuning my car based on datalogs or dyno pulls.
Thanks for the info!

Hi VividRacing! I know you guys from some of the other forums. Good people!
I tried attaching some pics. Hopefully this works. The Evo is too dirty right now for pics so I only have this one pic of it. Both cars have bone stock exteriors. I'm putting a front lip on the GT-R though once the snow clears and I'm possibly getting the rims powdercoated black.
