choosing a clutch

hey all,
i think my stock clutch is almost done so im looking to upgrade my clutch and flywheel to an aftermarket one.
I was wondering if someone could direct me to some clutch reviews. i have searched and read some, but wondering if there are more for other brands besides competition and exedy.

Also, i would appreciate if I could get some recommendation for my current set up.
i am running 345 hp and 33x tq right now. i do plan to upgrade my turbos in the future and get up to about 500hp. i also plan to start some autox when the spring comes, so anything that can hold up for those events would be nice.

Please help a newb out. Thanks in advance.

exedy twin. stockish feel, holds alot of tq, solves high rpm lock-out unlike the single discs.

Not all singles lock-out, just the poorly designed and/or maladjusted ones.

For that power goal I'd look at the WORKS CK2/3 and the ACT HDG6.

Well I'd say if you have the $$$ go with an exedy twin HD. If you are short on $$$ go with the ACT Street. A friend of mine has the exedy on his car and I loved it. However I had to go with ACT because of $$$. The ACT Street disc was awesome and it did a great job with 34x wtq. for quite some time. No lock out issues at all. Then I went with FP Red and the Street disc was dying so I just bought a $115.00 6 puck from ACT and just swaped discs .

Many people say that they have issues with ACT, but I have never had any lockout issues with mine and I always shift at 8K .

Thanks guys, i will be looking at either the twin hd if i have the money.. or act clutch if money falls short... What are some flywheels that make less noise?
I've had JWT clutch and flywheel on my 350z and I was kind of annoyed by the noise it was making. I understand all flywheels will be louder than the stock one and make some noise, but I would like to get something quiet. Any suggestions?

whoa... i think exedy one is a bit over my price range..I think I will have to go with the act one.
What are the differences for hd 6 pad and hd performance?

I personally have the exedy lightweight flywheel, not the twin disk one. It's lighter than stock by about 2 pounds and is pretty quiet, I didn't notice a difference between it and stock. But it does rev faster, which is nice. If you're interested, I am selling mine, VERY low price. It only has 600 miles on it. pm me.

I just had the ACT XTSS installed a few months ago along with the ACT Streetlight flywheel and so far I love it! I don't think you can beat it for the price. The driveability is much better than the Exedy Stage 2 single disk I had in previously and pedal feel is great too. I took it to the track and made a couple of passes a month or so after it was installed and didn't have any lock-out issues shifting between 7000 and 7500. I haven't really noticed much of a difference between this flywheel and the stock one, but I got a nice package deal on the clutch and flywheel so I ended up getting a new flywheel for almost the same price as having my stocker resurfaced.

Agreed. ACT XTSS street disk if your looking for a clutch that can hand what you currently have, room to grow and on a budget.

The pedal feel is quite a bit stiffer than oem. However you will get used to it very quickly.

Currently I have it installed with my OEM resurfaced flywheel. I wish I resurfaced my 10 lbs flywheel to use with this. I have ran both flywheels and from my experience all the negatives people have claimed on lighter flywheels and the evo are false. Well at least with my RRE 10.7 lbs flywheel.
