Evo 8 Question

I've searched and done a fair amount of research already, my question is with the mods I am about to list should an Evo 8 be capable of making around or just under 350whp/350tq?

- Evo 9 turbo/bov
- Full TBE exhaust (lets say AMS cbe, dp, and resonated tp) including an 02 housing
- Full intake with stock intercooler (Injen intake, upper & lower ip)
(Could I save money and make this power with just a drop in filter and lower ip?)
- Walbro 255
- Tune @ TTP
- AEM's TruBoost

Some parts I would get used and some new, but is it reasonable to think this can all be done under 2.5k? Should I save even more by just getting a mbc and less expensive boost & air/fuel guages? Thanks in advance..

I wouldent think so, fro the list the only power gainers is the exhaust, intake and the tune. Intake and exhaust will prob gain you 10hp ea, dont know about the tune. I would say turn up the boost and maybe cams.

Cams. Should be your next step. 272's or 280's.

YES you should get around 350, add cams and you will be around 370.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I would like to leave the internals stock. Plans would be to eventually build the motor somewhat along with a MIVEC head swap. This wouldn't be until much later though..

If you have E85 in your area that would definitely get you there. I don't think you'll hit 350 (mustang dyno) with those mods though.

Unfortunately there aren't any E-85 stations nearby.. I know since mustang dynos tend to read a bit low I will fall short, but as long as it's close I'll be fine with it. Just checked TTP's site and they use a Mustang dyno lol.

I've personally got an evo8 with many of the bolt ons your describing, including w255/exhaust/dp/greddy fmic/hallmann boost controller/stock turbo/stock internals. I'm sitting at 295/300 on 24psi. I'd say with a good set of cams and valvesprings you could hit that 350 mark without a problem

It's that 8 stock turbo with it's 9.8 hotside also....no good

OP...if tune is spot on and depending on dyno....i could see you hitting them #'s....e85 would make it easy

Thanks for the info, I'm pretty sure the stock turbo is your bottleneck though.. Is your intercooler piping stock?
