people drive 600+whp cars everyday. just cause you make a lot of power doesnt mean you have to use it. i hardly ever get on my car and it makes a good bit of power.

In my opinion I would say never too much HP, just too much lag depending on your setup.

all a matter of driving style, power delivery, and engine mods (built and reliable etc).

for all intent and purposes, a stock evo is faster than you can actually USE on the street. if you drive like a jack@ss then yea, 700whp is going to kill someone, but so will 300whp.

whp does not matter as stated earier in this thread. its all in how you drive peroid. I would hope you dont drive in boost. the most i ever got to in town was 3-5 psi which is nothing more then accelrating from a light or something. as of now (changing) car sits at 585 and as long as your foot is not in the floorboard you would never know the car is stupid quick with the 2.4 spooling it. drive NORMAL and there will not be any issues. I would say 600whp is enough to kill majority of cars on the street so any more is just overkill and showing out for numbers game or a drag racing type car in which it should not be on the road anyways.

Depends on the turbo. I had my stock turbo on steroids on E85 and then a BBK full and then the HKS and all three used to want to spool like a sunova ***** so quick I had to literally drive the car like grandma to NOT go into boost or keep it at around 5psi. Fun and annoying all at the same time.

I know a guy who dailys a 1000 horsepower supra. It all matters what you can afford to drive and fix. I personally hate driving my fun car everyday.......its not longer fun and you forget why you like it.....sell it and get something more "Adult" and then missthe evo everyday like alot of members here.

It really depends on the types of conditions you drive in. Aggressive aftermarket clutches, lightweight flywheels, and big cams can really make stop & go traffic taxing on the driver. It's more of a conditions and exact mods question rather than a set power figure.

To the OP i think you will find the same answer over and over, it's not how much horsepower but how much restraint you have. I for one love driving around everyday but i constantly battle the evil force known as "boost" lol.
