I would have to agree with you. Love my 50trim!!! It's perfect for DD.

Not me. I don't want the turbo constantly in boost with even the smallest of throttle inputs. That's annoying.

But I guess some around here want their ricer blow-off valve poppin' at every shift so everyone can look at you

All sound like awesome cars, but I have to disagree with you that they all get great mileage on e-85. I run it in my Evo, '89Turbo TA, and 91 twin turbo Mustang and mileage sucks compared to gasoline (and this is expected since you need at least 30% more of it compared to gas). But I sure love the performance and I'm sure you do too!

Coming from DDing a 97 Cobra for 4 years the Evo is a godsend.

I love having such low torque at low revs, it keeps the tires planted much easier in bad conditions.

I also like the ACD for a DD. Being able to change the lockup behavior is really nice. For instance I use Gravel mostly during the winter, but if something spooks me I can switch to snow and really feel the difference in grip. I like knowing how each mode will change what the car does....

Compared to my Cobra which had a gas pedal, no traction control, and ABS that loved to activate at the wrong time (light braking during corner entry on slippery surfaces when I'm trying *NOT* to slip the tires).

It's more like wanting to be quicker than a Yaris, when piloting a +3200lb car with a 2.0L motor.

If you dont travel on highway or expressway often then I think over 500 is too much. Who wants to launch in city driving or in 35 to 45mph speed zones lol. Its exhausting for no reason

With 500whp you can take out just about anything on the street. Thats plenty of power, maybe even to much.

450-500 (dynojet).. on stock block keeping the torque below 400wtq will assist in reliability as well. i daily drive 600whp+ in the summer and its fine in traffic and anywhere else.. but i just have an exedy twin, which is a fairly calm clutch once you get the feel for it.

how much power for a daily driver comes down to your past experience with power in vehicles.. 400whp can be fine for someone and be to much for someone else.. it depends on your past history in vehicles you've owned.

if you're coming from say a 300whp car i would say go to 400whp and no further until you get used to it.. jumping from one extreme to the next is what gets people in trouble. with lots of power comes lots of responsibility.

most people will be more then happy with 400-450 dynojet in a evo.

This.

I went from 225whp to 370whp when I bought my Evo. When I floor it, I feel almost disoriented for a moment. I have both hands on the wheel and I can feel my eyes focus and my concentration sharpens immediately.

I would liken it very much to wheelieing a literbike. You get that same feeling of controlled turning, straightening up, and then a quick throttle roll on.

When getting used to that kind of power, be sure the car is pointed where you want it to go and get focused. These aren't literally toys. Hopefully I can remember my own advice.
