25psi at redline arp needed or not

Hi guys,

I have same question for 2 setups.

I my self have stock jdm 8mr 10.5 turbo and my brother has fp white. Both engines are stock.
Question is do we need to have arp studs in order to run 25psi till redline? atm we are both spiking 26 and dropping do about 21 but would like to hold the boost a bit higher at the top.

Also we are running on 98ron(similliar to us 93)

any input would be appreciated.

cheers,

Marek

I ran 30 psi daily for a year on the stock studs with a red and e85.

I think you should be ok as long as you dont do any hard pulls in 5th gear in low rpm. That is what i was told long time ago. Gl bro

I was running out of fuel so i had to drop it to 28psi by redline 8000rpm to make AFR's safe.

Yes. I have run well over 30psi on the stock head studs.

You are trying to find a direct relation between manifold pressure (boost) and the limit of the head studs, which is limited to cylinder pressure. A spike in cylinder pressure is what will cause the studs to stretch and lift the head.

^exactly... thats why a low rpm 5th gear pull can blow it easy...

i ran 25psi tapering to 21psi(91oct) on my stock studs no prob... got arp studs because i went e85 running 30psi tapering to 22-23psi(e85) and didnt want to risk anything.

in the end with your setup you dont NEED them. If you are worried about it, get them...it wont hurt anything.
