Just buy a manual boost controller. They're like $85.

Kinda off topic but I couldnt find a thread about this, what does it feel like when your dv is leaking, i have an 8 with the stock 8 dv, and when i accelerate and get higher into boost, i feel a hesitation, more like a flatline of boost for a split second, and then it almost catches it self and then does it a few more times, im guessing its the stock 8 dv leaking and im gonna change it out for a crushed 9 anyways, but just curious as to what it feels like when its leaking

Yes, a new Diverter Valve is a must... even at factory pressures.
I have had the stock plastic 8 DV, Turbosmart, IX, and now use the Synapse Synchronic DV.

I can tell you the Synapse is leaps and bounds ahead of any aftermarket DV available in terms of driveability, versatility, and even sound. Check one out.

A few years back at 30psi on my stock IX turbo, my stock dv was not sealing.

I got a Forge RS just to see if it would fix the issue.... problem solved. Solved so much that the additional midrange power the car gained from actually having a dv that didnt leak instantly made my stock clutch slip.

Ive fought with people about this time and time again who say that a crushed IX dv works fine, while it might work "decently" compared to how it might have been with an VIII bov, if you put a proper, high quality aftermarket part on your car, you can be worry free and will have done it right the first time. Get a Tial QR or a Synapse, Tial gets my vote.
