which Hankooks? for sporty daily driving, i'd suggest the v12 Evos. for maximum dry performance (trackdays/autoX), i'd look into the RS3s. if you do a search on either, they've gotten good reviews.

what width wheel are you going to be running? 245/45R17 is fairly tall, which could be beneficial in the 1/4 mile by saving you a shift into 5th (depending on your power level). besides making your speedo read a little low, its not a terrible size. many people don't like the balloon look though, so they'll tell you to go with 255/40R17s (which is actually a little shorter than stock) even if you have the stock 8" wheels.

hope that helps

thanx man,

i have the BBS 17 inch wheels on my evo 9 mr.

am going for the Hankook v12 evo.

the stock tire is 235/45/R17 on the BBS wheels, so 245/45/R17 would improve the grip right?

i haven't had experience with either stock A046s or V12 Evos, but from what i've read, the stockers have a slight edge in ultimate dry grip. sidewall stiffness is greater with the A046s as well (which in turn increases turn in response and decrease sidewall flex and roll), but you can expect everything else to be better with the V12s - longevity, price, comfort, noise etc. i believe the V12s have an edge in wet grip as well.

Many use a 245/40-17 as well, might want to check those out. The V12's do well across the board for a dd tire. Have not had any complaints on them, especially for the price.

245/45/17 works on stock wheel, 245/40/17 will throw off the speed odometer reading, you'll lose 2mph in each gear.
