Am I crazy to kinda want to switch to evo 8 or 9?
Like the title says, am I crazy that part of me wants to switch to an older evo, ie 8 or 9, from my X? One part of me would love the look and the more raw sportiness of the older evo's vs the x, esp with my MR and part of me wanting to change from dual clutch to having a manual. But I love my X MR too, esp the dual clutch, since I'm lazy for a manual too. lol. So anyone here that would switch from their X to an 8 or 9 if they could/wanted to?
I don't think I'd have the funds and credit to trade in my car and buy an older evo since they still have good value, in the mid 20's, so has anyone seen people wanting to trade their older evo's for an X?
Sorry I'm bored too. haha

Not crazy at all. It just depends on what you want though. Part of me wants to sell my 9 and get a X. I like driving the X's for sure. Then, I like the aggressiveness of the 8 and 9 though. The 8 and 9 dont have some of the luxurys the X's do, and I like that sometimes. They are just more mean looking, where as a X is more "nice" looking lol. IF that makes sense.
id love to trade my 8 gsr for a X MR and MR only.
the X is smooth clean and crisp.
doesnt attract AS much attention as the 8 or 9.
and of course, cruise control is a wonderful thing

Ya like any comparison theres the ups and downs of both. Just wanted to see what others thought. I guess overall the X is a nicer, newer car. The new wrx/sti's are the same way, look more cruiser upscale then the old ones, same with Evo's. The Evo has grown up lol. I'll probably keep my evo but I'm about to be jobless (actively searching for a new job), so if I could find a nice clean older evo that would be less payments, that may spring me into it(or sadly to just a cheaper car which I hope I don't have to do :/)

I recently considering the swap up to an X. I test drove an X GSR this past weekend, it make me love my 8 more. I wasnt really impressed with the car overall. This wasnt an MR, but- it didnt have that "raw" feeling I'm not ready to give up. Just my opinion.
I think its usually "the grass is always greener" type thing. I have thought about getting rid of the X for a clean 9 MR. But I know right when I do ill regret it and wish I had my X back. I just wish I could own both.
I think the best answer.. pay off the car in a couple years and then buy an older 8/9.

I just sold my STI this last summer and I had every intent to get a X but they just didn't do it for me. The car just felt fat and wayyyyyyyy softer than my STI which is a horrible thing IMO. I got the opportunity to take a IX for a test drive and it felt like my STI on steroids, the rest is history.
The X MR would be a nice DD with a little bit of kick though.

The evos 8 and 9 are like hot chicks that'll have raw porno sex with you and rock your world. However, there's no comfort with them and you wouldn't want to take them home to meet mom. The evoX is a refined woman who has class and would love to tell all your family about. She still has the potential to rock your world though she's got a little junk in the trunk. Does that analogy make any sense at all? Sometimes you like the comfort and luxury, sometimes you want the pure, raw performance.
