Its fine but you know when you get it your going to have get custom piping for your car. Just bring it to a local shop and have them madrel bent custom cat back piping. And it wont increase 12-20 hp more like 3 to the wheels.

Its not a bad muffler. It won't give you as much hp as stated. You should get it if you want it for looks and sound. If you want performance (a few more hp) you should get full cat-back exhaust piping, which could easily be attached to that muffler.

ps, if you do get it, don't put the silencer in, they look dumb.

I see. I would have to get rid of the huge box looking thing(cat.?) out in order to put that in.

A muffler no matter how pretty, shiny etc will not yield you much if any additional horsepower at the wheels due to the fact that you're opening the exhaust by only the most marginal amount. Gains are only going to be truly noticeable with a completely redone exhaust, that is, from the header back, and even just with a cat-back exhaust.

RMR's exhaust is only an axle-back. It only consists of the muffler and and the short bit of tailpipe before it. Meaning, it stops about where your axle is. It doesn't go all the way to the cat.

Go to http://geocities.com/rai_auto_salon/ for a full cat-back exhaust for Lancers. The muffler looks pretty good too.

At Pep Boys they are probably just axle-back exhausts.

Any muffler shop can fabricate mandrel bent 2.25 or 2.5 inch tubing for custom cat-backs and mated mufflers.

You should also run a search on the VRS cat-back exhaust and the Buschur exhaust review by HobieKopek.

Also, http://www.roadracemotorsports.com has an axle-back exhaust, but they said that it can be attached to their cat-back piping that will be out soon.
