looks nice that you switched out how much did you end up loosing if I might ask. or rather was the 03 payed off and you got back into a payment or rather extended your pervious one. I dont think i would trade mine in to much work but if i did i think I would just go to evo X. No point really and getting a evo 9 basically same modding path and car as evo 8

With a car that had 174,000miles I got 10k I think. Or at least almost then put a little more on the deal. The car was paid in cash when I bought it. This is kinda part of a bigger plan though, credit wise that is. Plus, the only way I would have an Evo X is if I also had an 8. I really like them but not as much as the 8's or 9's.

Nice car

Was your decision based on the high miles the 03 had?

Yeah, pretty much. I have a work truck that I travel with so this car should stay under 50k miles for awhile. Really the only time I drive this one is if I just feel like taking a short cruise or a 4.5 hr trip to Dallas to see family and friends but I don't do that all that often.

Oh hey man, you live in Shreveport? That's funny because while I was deployed on my last tour, that's where my buddy went and picked that evo up for me. I know you got that email from the guys at evodynamics but if you ever want to know more about the car lmk.

Yeah I appreciate that, Clutch was slipping pretty bad when I bought it. Probably from all the people test driving it, but that's to be expected. Already in the shop getting replaced. It's in good hands, hopefully getting some good things done to it soon.. I know Evo9 turbo and E85 to hold me out for awhile for sure, Praying I get deployed this next spring.

Damn those are both sick cars, NICE!!
Out of curiosity, what was your power/torque for that 174K miles? Just interested in hearing about long term reliability, thank in advance!

Oh I'm glad you got it in the shop for the clutch. The clutch still felt really good the day I dropped it off though....

And as for the power on the WW one, I think it might have like 315 or so possibly. But as for realibilty, I'm not really sure because I never had to drive the car during the week and I only did a bunch of San Antonio to Dallas trips to visit. But the car sure did seem solid, I really loved that car.

So what are your plans for the new one?

I'm still learning as much as I can about them, but I think I've got a direction I wanna go.

The mileage on the car and previous problems didn't bug me at all, I've got a daily so not worried. Not to mention my previous car.... VW POS. That car spent 90% of its life in a garage.
