About 4 weeks ago I traded in my WW '03 with 174,000 miles for a '05 MR with 47,000 miles. The only parts I kept from the 03 were the JDM tails and a CF do luck style lip. So as soon as I made it home, I put the lip on as well as the flat black housing headlight mod. A week later I traded a guy for the FQ 400 TD wheels and last week my wife and I took out the seat and dyed the blue on the seats and then she stitched over the recaro to make it red as well as red stitching the outside. Thats pretty much where I sit right now. The car only had basic mods so it's not all that fast but I will be going to a 9 turbo and e85 set up pretty soon. So here are the pics from today after I washed it.

Also, I noticed that when I took the pics some of the blue was seen a little that was unseen by the naked eye even with a bright light on it. But I still have a bunch of the dye stuff left over.

How hard was it to do the red stiching? Is that your job?

Looks great man. Congratulations on the new toy. I've got an 05 mr. I haven't been driving it much over the last couple years, the build got out of hand. I just started driving it again after I lost my daily driver. Forgot that it's an awesome car. I really like what you did with the seats, enjoy!

 

with the lip, it looks just like the real fq400! just add the uk badge: evolution viii mr at the back. looks great.

 

You need a UK trunk badge now and FQ400 side mirrors and I think you will have a replica.

So I got the wheels on luck alone. I told myself that the TD pro race 1 wheels are the ones I wanted but with no luck at all I settled my thoughts on the pro race 1.2's because they ALMOST had the look. I figured that if I sold my stock BBS wheels then I could go ahead and order them so I put them on craigslist and got absolutely no replies. That work week I had to go to Houston for work and right when I left my house I got a text from a Houston area code that said..."would you take a trade for fq400 wheels?....they are the same ones that come on the UK model". Thinking it was total BS I called him and turns out it was legit. I turned my work truck around and went and got my car for the trip and stopped by his house on my way.......





....And the stitching was all my wife. She let me do the inside stitching on the bottoms and I was terrible at it. I think the only DYI mod I'm good at is the headlight mod. lol

 

I miss the 03' WW Evo8, it look so sick... ony one that was rocking the spoke look in SAtown. The MR is dope to... just get those swift spec r's and it will look much better

Side Note: This MR is gonna be having some Auto-x and Road course fun... right TAY?!
