Maintenece on 06 mr

Hey all, I just got an 06 mr and am going to be taking it to the dealer to get some basic maintenance done. I am going to be changing the oil, transmission, and transfer fluids. What else should I get done to make sure its in perfect running shape? Do you guys recommend any oil besides the factory recommended?

Congrats with the purchase... I remember some of your recent threads looking into a used Evo IX.

Anyway, it really depends on the car's existing mileage (and also what maintenance had already been done), as there are certain things recommended by Mitsubishi to do at certain points. The things you mentioned doing are typical of what happens every 15k miles (though at the 30k and 60k intervals, it involves other things as well), though it wouldn't hurt to go above and beyond the fluid changes just to be safe, but do try to find out what services had already been done so you don't end up spending money on a fairly pricey service that may have already been done when recommended.

The factory lubricants seem fine, though some people do go with stuff like Royal Purple and Amsoil instead of Mobil 1 for the engine.

Is there a listing somewhere of what the normal maintenance should be at these intervals?

Click on that link, and go to around page 40. Most Evo owners follow the "severe" schedule (instead of the "regular" one).

Hey thanks alot! I was just going to say that I don't have an owners manual yet, since I'm in the process of buying the car.

^ No problem. Like I said, following the "severe" schedule is what most Evo drivers do, and it really only adds one extra oil change per 15,000 miles (since they're recommended every 3,750 miles rather than 5,000 miles), which over the course of ownership really doesn't add much extra to it, maybe just $40-50 extra per year.
