The nice thing about EVO's is the mods aren't too expensive compared to other makes such as the STI. Just go over the FAQ sections in the forums and gain some knowledge there from guys with years of experience.

Good luck!
This will be my first boosted car, so I want to get to know the cars potential first. I want to learn how to drive it and maintain it before ****ing with it.

I will be modding the appearance thought lips, and what not. As well as interior goes. But motor will have to wait for a while THanks man!

My bad, I meant "black" Evo IX's lol. I just love the way they look, but I also love the VIII. I think the only reason i'd get a IX would be because of the newer year compared to the VIII, along with the bigger turbo, and more power.

I'm still looking around, i'm finding a lot more VIII's than IX's.

The ixs don't really have that much more power from the factory considering they have a bigger turbo and mivec its not as much as one would expect... just sayin, but if I could have found a ix for the price I paid for my viii I would have gladly taken it none the less as well.

I have owned my Evo for almost 5 years now and its a phenomenal car in stock form. I am just now finally thinking about doing a few mods to it and they will be mild upgrades at that. Good luck on your search.

I love my IX MR. I think the best part about the 6sp is the gas mileage with the tune I have on it. Im currently right around 325 with it and I feel as long as you don't beat the **** out of it like a 16 year old there shouldn't be many problems with it. I am at 95k miles and the tranny still shifts smooth through the beatings I know its been through. As a DD the 6sp would be a good decision. Seeing as you have owned a few nicer cars in the past and from the looks of it you took good care of them... You wouldn't have many problems with the 6sp. Mods really aren't too bad for the car and most of the work is fairly simple for a DIY person. Plus this forum is great for any questions you have.

Good luck with the search!

At this point, and with my budget, a VIII is more reasonable.
Like you said, if I can find a IX that fits my budget, that would be great.

I will be more than happy with an VIII.

I try and keep my cars as good as possible, I greatly dislike to see people mistreat their cars.

I will have to be on top of the Evo when I get it. I know it will require more maintenance than any of the cars that i've owned, but that's what comes with owning a higher end car. So i'm prepared

This will be a DD, so attention towards it will be a must.

Thanks man! Can't wait to own one!

Insurance is expensive no matter what. Even 611$ 2x a year for me (for 2 cars full coverage)
seems like alot since I havent used it in over 10 years...
