Are those parts and tuner really good?
very random post. i re read it like 4 times thinking i missed a bad experience or something. i would say this is just general knowledge and goes way beyond cars (doctors, jobs, whiskey, guns etc) but there are plenty of stupid people out there, so I am just going to agree with what you said bc its true.
best advice i can give (and someone said it way before me, so no credit on my end) but i always try and "support the people that support us". meaning if a shop, tuner, vendor etc is always giving back to the evo community, holding open houses, appearing at races (and doing well), posting helpful information here and listening to praise and criticism, it is a good measure of the shop and quality of people/parts you will get.
like you said, internet is a great thing, but also bad bc you can post anything you want and most people only post bad experiences. best bet is to RESEARCH and ask questions from the old timers here.
i could list the shops that I have had good experiences with, but i wont bother. i always ask other evo friends, mods, members, call the shops directly, and see what I am comfortable with. in the end, you get what you pay for. generally there is a reason why prices are expensive and reasons they are cheap. do your research.
one example I will just throw out there. JM Fab. They do not post here, have a very simply website, but you will find there parts all over my car. Why? well to start Jim the owner is very responsive and his parts are awesome. small shop, but top quality. Chad, care to vouche for me here? just because someone DOESNT post or posts a TON doesnt mean much. again, ask ask ask then buy. good luck to the newbies (myself included haha)

Do actual research and its amazing what you will find.
When adding parts what goal are you going for? Impressing un-knowledgeable friends or trying to make a real improvement to your car?
