The car is an 03 with 81,000 miles on the clock and he is letting me have it for 10,000 from the 13,000 originally listed, the car is mostly stock from what he tells me with the exception of a base tune to 20psi. It does have a few issue like:
Driver seat has a tear
Sunroof is off track
Needs tie rods
passenger mirror need to be replaced
Small dent on the hood

10k for the car is a really good deal IMO, even if you have to put a few thousand into it. Definitely not top shape but not a bad buy for 10k.

take it to a shop and have it checked out...any of the maintainace will be important..

Is it worth the hassle or would it be better to hold off for another deal, I want it as my daily and wont do anything more than have fun on the highway on the way to work. I do plan on doing a MR interior replacement and get everything looking as new as I can, as for the engine an intake, exhaust, bov, header,down pipe and a tune would be all Id do to it. I am not very mechanical so even the small stuff would be done by a shop, all that said is it still worth it?

Good deal, have a shop do the mechanical work and just do the odd and ends yourself. If you dont end up gettting it pm me the details on the car.

Figure on spending another 5k to get it into proper shape. Mechanically and cosmetically. If you're ok with that then I think you should buy the car. If you are very tight on money then don't buy it. Evos are durable cars when treated right. But because of the nature of the owners they usually go through a hard life and things can get expense real fast on any non-pristine condition evo.
Too late I think its sold, back to the waiting game.

surprised at some of the post in this thread. 10K for any running, good condition evo under 100K miles is a deal in my book.
Sounds like the only thing it needed to be enjoyed as a daily were tie-rod ends, which, outers are a piece of cake to change, get an alignment, enjoy car.
not surprised it is already sold.

Unless it was beat half to death by an owner that never took care of it properly. Which seems to be more common than not on a cheap evo. Finding a cheap evo thats not beaten to death and has below 100k miles is like finding the holy grail. I thought I found it in mine but eventually the truth came out.
