Finally an owner after being a lurker for so long
Finally an owner after being a lurker for so long
I have been a fan of the car and never really liked the looks of it on previous generations, but all of the videos and reviews I've seen constantly kept me coming back to see what it was all about. I have been an MR2 Turbo owner and have sunk more money into it than I would have liked, but that is the bug of modding.
I am currently working in Afghanistan and sent out e-mails to dealers from Coast to Coast and the only ones that came with straight up numbers were 2 dealers in TX. I corresponded with one regarding a WW and he was just waiting to get me the OTD numbers for the car. Well I got a reply from another dealer in TX regarding an OBP and I guess he is in charge of sales as he gave me an OTD offer on the spot and I just told him I'd get back with him and still waiting on the other dealer to reply.
No reply after a day so I pulled the trigger on a 2011 OBP GSR that was fully loaded. Never drove the car, never seen it in person, but watched a bunch of videos and read a lot of reviews of the car in action. I still have to sign the paperwork once I get to go on my mid-tour break and then the dealer will ship it to the house
I can't wait to drive an AWD car as I'm coming from a mid-engine RWD car. I plan to keep it til the wheels fall off as it is going to be one of the last gas powered Evos before the hybrid release. I was debating between a GTR, Z06, or 911; but couldn't justify the annual maintenance on the GTR or 911 and the Z06 is just a 2 seater (but love the LSV8 rumble). Overall will be glad to finally be able to get behind the wheel.
I keep getting the urge to buy mods for this car, but I got an ext. warranty so gonna keep it stock until it runs out. I have the MR2 to mod and drive on the weekends. Hopefully this will be a good experience
Never owned a DSM before.
Take care everyone, be safe, and have fun!
