Just picked up my evo

It was fine and drove fine on the way back, got an 03 black evo 8. But I was told from the owner, that it has a cold start idle. So I didnt think that was a big deal, cuz on the day i took it back it was nice n sunny. Now its getting very cold and near winter and it cranks up and starts, but has cold start idle...if i dont put some gas into it, i usually keep my foot on the gas pedal for 3-5 mins, around 1k rpm...for it to stay alive, if not the rpm will go lower than 500 and it will die. Is this a common evo issue? Or could it be something around my starter/alternator/distributor? I dont believe its my spark plugs, as those were changed prior to the sale, but it car does have Precision 780 cc injectors and the car is untuned. Battery still looks to be in good shape. After it warms up and temp. needle goes to the middle of hot and cold, car runs good and has no idle issue at stop-lights, it stays right at 1k rpm and is "quiet"

anything i can do to fix this? just hate waiting inside the car while its dead cold or almost near below zero degress and foot on gas pedal til it warms up and i can run inside house to wait for it to fully warm up before i take off. gets a little bit annoying as i need it to be reliable since its my dd, do u guys think the aftermarket injectors need to be tuned for? I was thinking this...but not too sure.

Why not have a tuner sort it out for you?

Sounds like a tuning issue. A good tuner should be able to sort it out for you.

Yeah, most likely it's the fuel settings in your stock tune since it's for 560cc.

Let us know how you make out with the new tune.

..and even more curious that the previous owner didn't sort this out when they owned it, as they would have dealt with this issue as well... any updates?
